At Adderley Green Surgery we understand that caring for another person can be physically and emotionally demanding. If you’re busy caring for a loved one, we’re here to help make it easier for you to manage your own healthcare needs, by giving you access to the services and the emotional support you need to stay happy and healthy while caring for somebody else. As well as convenient digital access to our clinicians, we are starting to offer all of our patients who are carers a free annual health check with our Health & Wellbeing Coaches.
As a carer for someone else you may not always prioritise your own healthcare needs. We are currently piloting free annual health checks for our patients who are carers, with the view to extend this to all our carers in the near future. The health check will be a holistic assessment of your health and wellbeing.
We are using a new digital booking service, Hero Health, to help with the booking of a carers review or health check which allows you to book in directly with our health coach without needing to call the surgery. A carer is anyone who looks after a family member, partner or friend who is unable to cope on their own. This care might be to support with mental or physical health, frailty, a disability or addiction. Carers can be children or adults, and the care they give is unpaid.
